SDK Holiday Blog Train

My brain needs a check-up!!! I somehow mananged to convince myself that Sunday was the 20th - and that despite me writting that it was the 19th repeatedly at work on Friday... don't ask! And so... (hangs head in shame...) I'm late in posting my part for the blog hop. But I hope you'll forgive me when you see what I have in store for you. I have been on a long designing break to allow myself to plan a wedding, study (and pass - see post below) national board exams, and deal with life in general, but I always missed it! So participating in this blog train was a treat! I might have some more news regarding that in the new year but for now...

ta-daaaahhh!!

There are 3 download links, make sure that you do pick up all 3 to get the complete kit!

Links have now been removed

The other parts of this kit are gorgeous, too, so make sure to check THIS thread at ScrappinDigiKreations.com to see who else has goodies for you.

Please don't forget to leave a little comment if you download! it makes all the difference in the world to me, and it takes less than a minute for you! Thanks so much!

Big NEWS!!!

I got fantastic news yesterday!! I had a board exam at the end of October, and the results were FINALLY made available... and I PASSED!!! Totally panicked that I wouldn't, kept thinking I had made wayyyy to many stupid mistakes, but apparently I didn't screw up too badly!! YAYYYYY!!!

So on this happy note, I wanted to share a Christmassy LO that I've made! My cousin's wedding was 3 days after Christmas, and she had decorated trees everywhere and ornaments hanging from the ceiling!! It was really special to her and her (now)-husband, so I figured I would scrap their wedding pictures with Christmas kits, like this fabulous one from Jenny K. called Sweet Christmas. It's available in her shop at SDK, and you will NOT be dissapointed if you decide to pick it up!!

And of note, SDK will be hosting a blog train starting Dec. 20th, you do NOT want to miss the goodies that are up for grabs!! So make sure to come back then, cause I'll have a surprise for you (and it is NOT a small surprise, judging by the file size!!)

CT LO

I keep forgetting to add thes to my blog... but here are some of the LO i've created for the store CT at ScrappinDigiKreations.com. This month we were asked to create LO for Pixelfairy, Jenny K and Designs by Moo... they all have incredible stuff, have a peek at their stores!

Here are a few LO with kits by Pixelfairy... her dreamy style is to die for!!

Kit: Pixelfairy - Enchanting Autumn; Wood alpha: Jenny K. - Wooden Alphas; Template: Fryskes Designs; Font: Two Turtle Doves Kit: Pixelfairy - Fiona; Template: Fryskes Designs; Font: Hyrules Kit: Pixelfairy - My Rusty Garden; Font: Olho de Bois

Jenny K's style is slightly whimsical, with fun little creatures and lovely textured papers...
With regards to this LO, I'm hoping it will cheer my MIL up slightly... she broke her wrist badly over the weekend, and even had to go to the OR so they could fix it up with screws and plates!! Everything went fine, but now she has to have a cast for 6 weeks, and she's all on her own in Ottawa... She says she might go visit her family in Egypt, both for company and to have someone who can help her if she needs help at any time!! (Makes me almost wish I would break my wrist!!)

Kit: Jenny K - Aqua Fun; Template: Fryskes Designs; Font: Bleeding Cowboy

I have a few more LO coming for Jenny, but was so excited about these I couldn't wait to share them! They'll be up in the next few days.

Finally, I also got to play with Designs by Moo... Her kits are fantastic! Full of soft vintage and classic lines, they were a blast to play with!

These were my Great-Great-Grandparents on their wedding day... (don't they look serious?!? Hope I don't look so stiff in my wedding pix!) But despite appearances, it actually was a rather scandalous love story for the time! He barely spoke a word of French, and she spoke nothing but French, but that was nothing to stop them! It was love at first sight, so to the chapel they went! When you know, you know!!

Kit: Designs by Moo - Treasure Box; Font: Olho de Boi

On a different note, looks like Anabelle's eyes will definitely be blue! I know it can change up to about 6 months to a year, but look how pale they are! I doubt they'll revert to brown, don't you? And I'm not jealous... (or at least i'm no more than a teeny tiny little bitty bit jealous!!!)Kit: Designs by Moo - Tea Party; Font: Nasty, Digs My Heart; Template: Fryskes Designs

And I leave you with a christmas LO... cause I'm a sucker for christmas! I spent the whole day decorating my christmas tree yesterday!! It looks great, though, i'll have to post pix. Meanwhile, this was my tree last year... all the decorations in it were actually made by hand (Ny thinks I'm a nut job, but I like the end result!! lol)

Kit: Designs by Moo - Twas the Night; Template: You and I Designs; Font: Unnamed Melody

That's all I've got for today! Make sure to check out these lovely ladies' stores... they all have a home at ScrappinDigiKreations.com! also, Kim has a new treasure hunt going, and it's GORGEOUS!!! run and grab those daily links!!

New layouts and a QP freebie!!

I had some great news sitting in my inbox!! I participated in a challenge at DigiScrapMania.net, and won 2 new kits... Of course I had to scrap with them right away and wanted to share!!

The first kit is Angel Breeze by Akiloune... isn't it gorgeous? It's available in her store at Digital-Crea.fr, and it is SOOOOO totally worth it!!
and here's what I did with it... I had so much fun adding wings to pictures of Anabelle! She's growing up so fast, it's insane seeing how she changed in so short a time!
I also received Chriscap's new kit, Birth of a Bloom, which is also available at Digital-crea.fr It's such a fun kit, full of cute little details! (and birds... I'm loving birds on my LO lately!)
and here's my LO... (can you tell i've become a totally gaga aunt?!?)
And I also have a little surprise for you! I've made a QP with Kim Smith's wonderful kit, Celebrate. It's available in the shop at ScrappinDigiKreations.com
Here's a LO I've made with it...
and Kim's given me permission to give the QP I've made from the LO so... (drumroll for my first blog freebie...)
TADAAA!! Download it HERE!

Life ran away with me!

Wow!! I had not realized it had been this long since I had blogged!! Let's just say life ran away and I've been playing catch up like there's no tomorrow!!
So we moved at the end of June and are slowly getting settled (at least we managed to get all the boxes emptied!!) and have managed to do some renos (mostly the kitchen, although Ny's also quite proud of the new shower head he managed to install!) and paint a bit. There's still so much painting to do, though... I think the house was designed by an architect with a twisted sense of humour!! There are so many angles, corners, arcs everywhere it's enough to make anyone dizzy. But we love it here, especially the giant closets and the rooftop terrace.
Then my niece was born September 7th... A little cutie called Anabelle. I've been trying to get up to Ottawa often to see her, but she just grows up so fast!! Although I'm glad to be here in TO, I find myself wishing I was back home so I could see her more often. I did get the chance to spend lots of time in close quarters with her not long afterwards, though... my grandmother passed away and we all drove to New Brunswick, baby and all, to attend the funeral... it's a good thing she's a good baby or she might not have survived seeing how tired I was by the end of the ordeal! (I had been up and about for 4 days straight with only 10 hours of sleep total!)
We did go back home to Ottawa again last weekend to celebrate thanksgiving and my birthday (although we had lasagna for thanksgiving... I told my mom long ago that no matter if my birthday was the same as thanksgiving, I did not care for turkey!!) But we had a very nice time sleeping in and catching up with friends.
And to top it all off, I have my national board exams Oct. 25th... and have been procrastinating like there's no tomorrow - no studying last weekend, and today doesn't look good, either. Hopefully panick will kick in before it's too late! But I really am looking forward to being done the exam, seeing as I will be leaving for vacation the day after the exam! Mexico beaches for a week... I can't wait!
I have done a few new LO... with a new niece, the occasion was perfect to shop for new kits!! Here are some of my favorite:
Kit: Doreen Stolz - Pink Parfait; Template: Lorie M.; Font: Zothique Demo, Problem Secretary

Bellisa - Juste une étincelle (dragonfly, fushia, cherry blossoms); Happy Scrap - Tout en douceur (paper, border, lace); Digi Scrap Mania - Sable Brûlé collab (rose & bracket mat - Bellisa, leaf - Calimero); Digi Scrap Obsession - Scrap Journal collab (frame, glitter swirl, ribbon, flower, heart; Font: Adorable
Kit: Line - Le monde merveilleux de Jack; Template: Kay Miller; Font: Baby Bowser

And a LO with one of the very few pictures I have of me with my grandmother

One neglected little blog!

Oops!! I had promised myself (and others who shall remain nameless!) to update this at least once a week!! Life and work (well... mostly work!) ran away with me for the past few days! But what a bunch of last few days it's been!! We bought a townhouse in Downtown Toronto, which made me feel very grownup and very, very scared all at the same time!! Here's a LO i've made of it! The picture's not the greatest since all I had was the real estate picture of it, but I'll add more pictures on the blog as soon as I've got some!Credits: Kit: Snap and Scrap - Where The Heart Is

So i've been packing like crazy, talking to banks and lawyers and real estate agents, and packing like a maniac!! Looking at the mess around me, I wonder if I'll ever finish on time!! We move on June 30th, wish us luck!!
I also started making a baby album for my future niece... My brother and his girlfriend are expecting mid-September, but I want to have this done before the move cause I've got no idea if I'll have the time to scrap afterwards seeing as we have so many projects for the new house! I'll post pictures of that project as soon as Ny comes back from vacation with the camera. (Because of course, 2 weeks before our big move is precisely the perfect time to go off to Dominican Republic for a week!!)

Between packing a box and working late shifts at the hospital, I did manage to scrap a few pictures from our friend's wedding last month!

Finally, I leave you with one a LO I just love... I'm so happy with how it turned out! (and I love how of all people, Ny's the one who stepped out on the balcony, saw the sunset, and declared we 'HAD' to take a picture of it!!

And finally, can anyone tell me why in the world my banner is twice the width of the rest of the blog? Also, is there any way I can fix the main text column so that it takes up more than 1/4 of the screen?
